ECCA 2009 Conference a Huge Success

The European Campus Card Association held its annual conference at the Radisson Hotel London Stansted on June 7th and 8th 2009. The conference was yet another success this year with over twenty four educational members and eighteen businesses attending the conference.

The conference attendees heard from internationally recognised campus card experts and networked over the two day event. A new board of ECCA Directors was also elected at the AGM which took place on the last day of the conference.

The theme of this year's conference was 'Connecting Europe' with the main attraction being the workshop/seminar on the EECS FP7 Project. The conference offered a varied choice, with presentations ranging from biometrics, case studies undertaken in various universities regarding installing a campus card system and operating a cashless environment to security on campus cards.

During the conference, members also had the opportunity to take advantage of breakout sessions to visit the stands of some of our corporate members. The group also learned more about the FP7 funded European Education Connectivity Solution Project, which was officially launched at the conference.

The following members were elected to the ECCA Board of Directors 2009/2010: Andrzej Materka (ECCA President), Wolfgang Franke (Vice President), Sinead Nealon (Secretary), Eugene McKenna (Treasurer), Tor Fridell (Board Chairman), Morgan Persson (Board Member), Michal Strzelecki (Board Member) and Peter Cockburn (Board Member).
